State of Unión

Latinos in the South, a program of the Latino Commission on AIDS is excited to announce the State of Unión 2024, a free, one-day community convening on October 24th in Charlotte, NC designed to deepen connections between local leaders and advocates, build policy knowledge, and provide tools to aid in mobilizing community while harnessing the power of storytelling to create more equitable health outcomes.

The purpose of the State of Union is to create a dedicated pre-conference space for Southern organizations to connect, collaborate, and explore how their work intersects with healthcare, civic engagement, and advocacy. While it will serve as a key gathering point for organizations attending Encuentro 2024 in Charlotte, it is also open to a wider audience of regional groups committed to advancing social justice and health equity. This event offers a unique opportunity to build networks, share strategies, and amplify the collective impact of efforts in shaping the future of our communities through active participation, advocacy, and leadership.
